Introduction

As regards the Iberian area, we would like to present here, by means of brief illustrative introductions or longer reviews, the editions of texts of particular interest and significant critical contributions relative to Spanish and Catalan medieval literature with a few references to Portugal as well. The review does not intend to be exhaustive and privileges - at least in this first stage - a qualitative criterion in the choice of works.

Moreover, from this merely informative point of view, we intend to inform of international conferences and meetings devoted to themes pertaining to the period and geographical areas in question, offering - if possible - a summary and a short report of the most innovative or prominent interventions.

Finally, this section is open to anyone who is interested in reporting ongoing individual or group research, offering itself as a meeting point for scholars working on similar themes.
